After years of making records with bands, I started recording some songs in my basement that I figured were demos for another band album.
But the more I worked on them, the more I kinda liked what was happening. So I kept going.
I wound up playing all the instruments myself, building the songs around acoustic guitars, bass, and drums. There's not a single electric guitar on the album, although it isn't exactly quiet. Quiet wasn't the point.
I also included a few live solo performances from that period. So it's a mix of full-band arrangements and stripped-down, warts-and-all recordings, which I think captures this little era of mine rather nicely.

I called it One and Only partly because I thought it might be the only solo album I'd make this way. Well, I'm working on another one now. So much for that.
